Welcome back to the Turbine Traveler! I want to personally thank you for taking the time out of your day to read these blog posts. It truly means the world to me. I like to start these posts with a bible verse, and this past week has been challenging in ways I am not comfortable to share online. So I am going to share this verse that I read,
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
-Isaiah 26:3-4
That verse keeps reminding me that the only way to get through challenging times is to trust in the Lord.
This week starts off slow. Sunday we had off due to standby. With the rotor on the ground and in the stand, some of the blades are being worked on. As I write this part of the blog I got a text that says we are going to have Monday off as well. Blade technicians is just another field within the wind industry. The wind industry is large and expanding every day.
With Sunday off I took my time to dally around, I got some laundry done and even found the time to fly my drone around the camp ground. Now since I have been here I haven’t explored around the area. I was here back in November for another set of towers at a different wind farm. Now I went here because another member on the team said they liked the area and had amenities close by.

Did have a heavy amount of rainfall throughout the past week. Look at this photo I took while going out to the tower. That hole is big enough to swallow the 2500 truck I drive! Most of the roads were washed out to the point you could see the compaction underneath.

On Tuesday I received notification that this site; TurbineTraveler.com has reached 100 visitors! Thank you to everyone who took the time out of your day to read and take a look at my website. It truly means the world to me.

With having to wait for the blade work to be completed, our team was sent five hours away to do another job. So we packed up a weeks worth of clothes, locked our campers, and drove to an Airbnb one of us booked. Once I got to the Airbnb I was just fed up with the day so I took a shower and headed to bed. When I arose we all took off to go have our Site Specific Orientation.
After orientation we headed out to the turbine to prep it for the work. Now I did mention it had rained, that was while I was in Texas. Now for this week I am in Kansas and it has rained the same amount if not more than back in Texas. The roads are sloppy, everything is wet including the air I breath. I guess the saying, “April showers brings May flowers,” is true.
We were able to get the job done within two days and I am actually typing this while I lay in bed the night before this gets published. Everything with the job went smoothly and no major problems arose.
Tomorrow is a travel day so I will travel back to my camper and get ready for work on Sunday. There is more to come! Thank you to each and every one of you that take the time to read these posts, it truly makes my day seeing the views I get on this site.
Stay Safe!!
